We’ve been working with Air Safety Support International, Saint Helena Airport and the Saint Helena Government Air Access Office over the past few months getting certification in place to fly a DJI Phantom 4 over the DPLUS051 cloud forest study area. Due to the size of the Saint Helena Airport Traffic Control Zone (TCZ), the study area falls into the airport TCZ and as a consequence we’ve needed to gain a formal permission to fly (in accordance with the Air Navigation (Overseas Territories) Order 2013).

It’s been a privilege working with all those involved and we are proud to say that Arctium is the first company to be awarded a commercial permit to fly a drone on Saint Helena, since the airport opened in March 2016.
